Dr. Byrd is a 2008 graduate from Tuskegee School of Veterinary Medicine. She has 3 children and a pet named Jaz. She started with Banfield in 2010 after working in hospital management in private practice. She takes pride in providing the best preventive care to her patients, while connecting with their owners!

Dr. Jonathan Zeiger
Veterinarian
Dr. Zeiger is new to the Banfield practice but has been in veterinary medicine since graduating from Auburn University in 1985. Convinced that veterinary medicine was the avenue through which he could best serve God. Dr. Zeiger and his family moved to Southeast Asia in 1995 to help poor farmers grow better crops and establish healthier lifestyles. He spent fifteen wonderful years in Asia, then went to work with Arab Veterinary Hospital for a few years, and is now with the Banfield family. Dr. Zeiger draws passion and conviction in his career from Proverbs 12:10: The righteous care for the needs of their animals.

Dr. Sue Skelding
Veterinarian
Dr. Skelding is new to the Banfield family. She attended veterinary school at Colorado State University where she graduated in 1990. She has experience in emergency medicine, acupuncture, and herbal therapies. She looks forward to sharing her knowledge with the team and clients as well.

Practice Manager
Daniel has been with the Banfield for 9 years. He started out as a veterinary assistant in Virginia, then moved to Montgomery where he became a shift lead, and then to Alabaster where he is now the practice manager. Daniel is proud to work for Banfield for the quality of care that they provide.

Shift Lead
Candace is originally from Beaver Falls, PA but graduated from the University of Alabama with her bachelor's degree in management with a specialization in health care management. She started working at Banfield in Cranberry, PA in September 2014 and transferred to the Alabaster, AL location in June 2015. Candace is a big sports fanatic, loves to watch movies, and enjoys traveling, especially with her golden retriever. She loves to connect with clients and provide them with the best care possible.

Veterinary Assistant
Stephanie worked in the veterinary field for 9 years before joining Banfield in August 2018 as a veterinary assistant. She chose to continue her career in veterinary medicine with Banfield because of their passion for preventive care. Stephanie has been a member of the Alabama Pool Association in Birmingham for 4 years, and she enjoys traveling and outdoor activities with her 2 Jack Russell terriers, Annabelle and Levi.

Veterinary Assistant
Carlee is currently finishing her associate's degree in biology at Jefferson State Community College. From there, she will transfer to UAB where she plans to get her bachelor's degree in biology, and will then pursue the rigorous veterinary program at Auburn University. This is Carlee's first year working at Banfield and she believes that with the knowledge and experience she has learned here, she will reach her future goals of becoming a veterinarian.

When he's not working, he enjoys shopping for old records, taking his two dogs for walks, and trying whenever he can to make peace with a number of local cats who seem to enjoy using his backyard as a litter box.
