Hi Brandon, There are benefits to spaying at a younger age including improved recovery time and reduction in certain disease possibilities. It is often recommended to spay a female prior to her first heat cycle for these same reasons. If you have concerns about the timing of the spay for your dog, I would recommend speaking with your veterinarian as they will know your pet’s specific needs and can also discuss your concerns about her bone growth. Based on all of the positives and negatives you can then decide together what is best for Marley.
