Rabbits do have natural shedding cycles where they shed a lot of hair. This usually occurs every 6 months or so. Finding a lot of hair in these situations can be normal. This shedding usually lasts about 2 weeks.
If your rabbit continues to shed for another week, I recommend that you take him in to see your veterinarian. I recommend that you check him daily for any bald spots, sores, or red areas on his skin. These along with the shedding can be signs of skin disease. If you notice any of these symptoms you should take him into see your veterinarian.
