• My family is planning a cross country move next month and our dog is very anxious during long car rides. We have tried many ways to calm him including distraction bones/toys, hormone collars and treats and even small doses of melatonin. Is there a safe sedative that can be prescribed so out dog is safe and happy during our multi day drive?

    Hi Danielle,
I recommend that you call and talk to your local Banfield Veterinarian about this question. There are some medications that can be used for anxiety. The one that will work best will depend on a few different factors including your pet’s age, weight, breed, and overall health. Your vet knows his medical history and they can give you the best advice on this.
