• My dogs gums are growing over teeth. She gets dental cleaning yearly for the past 4-5 years. Only meds are heartworm & flea and tick control. 1st Vet said it was common in some dogs, Don't worry. As progression gets worse, 2nd Vet says she grinding her teeth, Don't worry. Now she has only about less than an 1/16" of teeth showing in front (Incisors teeth). Progression is getting faster. I'm worried! She's an 8yr old Cocker Spaniel.

    Hi Coco,
I recommend that you talk to your local veterinarian about your questions. There can be a couple of different causes for what you are describing including grinding of the teeth, abnormal gum tissue growth, or even certain underlying medical issues. Your vet knows your pet and they will be able to give you the best advice on the potential causes for this. Any treatment that she needs will depend on the underlying cause of her symptoms.
