  • My 10 yr old lab has had difficulty with her bowel movements leading to diarrhea and one spot of bloody stool about the size of a tear drop this has been happening over 3 days. Activity levels normal and eating is also normal. She had her comprehensive just yesterday no notice of visual concerns given by attending vet or tech. Should I collect a sample and make the vet test it?

    Hi Elaine,
If the diarrhea has continued. I recommend that you take her into see a veterinarian. There can be many different causes for the diarrhea you are describing and often these diseases cause little to no change to the physical exam. Unless they are tested for and treated, the diarrhea can continued to worsen. Your vet can talk to you more about the cause of the diarrhea and the treatment that she needs after they have examined her.
