• I gave my cat a flea collar last month, and yesterday I realized her flea collar might have given her a chemical burn. I gave her a bath with baby soap to get all of the flea collar chemicals off of her, but I'm unsure what to do next. There are three areas where hair is missing (her neck) and her skin is a light pink, no blood. She is scratching at her neck, only making the healing process slower. What can I do?

    Hi Hillorie,

I recommend that you take her into see a veterinarian. The hairless areas along with the scratching can be from something like a chemical burn but it could be from an allergy, infection, or another underlying medical issue. Your vet can talk to you more about the cause of her symptoms and the treatment needed after they have examined her.
