• I am looking to adopt a golden doodle puppy. He is projected to be about 30 pounds (he is small, mom and dad are under 40lbs). His mom rates "fair" on the OFA scale for hips, her elbows are normal. Should I be concerned?

    Hi Corey,
There is some cause for concern because hip dysplasia does have a hereditary component to it. However, there are other factors that can be involved including growth rate and the size of the pet. The best thing to assess your puppy’s risk would be to have him examined by a veterinarian. They can give you a better idea of his risk after they have examined him.
