Hi Tamara and Dwayne, You would need to work with your veterinarian to determine the timing of therapy for your Chihuahua. There are many different protocols around the slow kill method. Many factors also determine the efficacy of this method such as the worm burden for your pet. I recommend making an appointment to discuss this with your veterinarian. The American Heartworm Society is also an excellent resource for more information about what you can expect to see with your pet.
