• Hi there, Our sweet boy is 8 months old and is a Maltese poodle mix. He seems to be having pain in his right eye, we have noticed that he hasn’t been wanting to fully open it and/or keep it closed (has been doing this for 1 hour now). I have tried to rub his eye to see if it’ll give him some relief but he’s still showing the same behavior. Do we need to bring him in to get checked out or is there something we can try at home? Thank you!

Hi Omar, if the symptoms that you are describing are still present I recommend that you take him into see a veterinarian as soon as possible if you have not already done so. The holding the eye closed is a sign of pain in the eye. This can be caused by a few different thi9ngs but the biggest concerns would be an injury, infection or glaucoma. Your vet can talk to you more about the cause of his symptoms and the treatment that he needs after they have examined him.
