• Hello - it looks like Star has the beginning of a staph infection on her belly. It’s a red dot that looks like a pimple with a little puss filled blister. Can I treat this at home with neosporin? How do I prevent my other dog, my cat, and me from getting the staph as well? Thank you Theresa

    Hi Theresa,
I recommend that you take Star into see a veterinarian. There can be many different causes for the spot that you are describing, There is a possibility that if it is something like staph or ringworm it could potentially be transmitted to you or your other pets. Your vet can talk to you more about the cause of the spot after they have examined her. The treatment that she needs will depend on the underlying cause and severity of her symptoms. They can also let you know if this can be passed to you or your other pets and if so they can recommend the best way to avoid this.
