Originally from the small rural town of Upton, Massachusetts, Dr. Scanlon grew up raising chickens and ducks along with a variety of other animals including chinchillas, parakeets, and various reptiles. She also was an active member of the local equine and poultry 4-H clubs, both of which fostered her love of animals and childhood dream of becoming a veterinarian.
Dr. Scanlon was recruited to play on the NCAA Division I Women’s Lacrosse team at the University of New Hampshire. She then continued her higher education and athletic career at Quinnipiac University where she graduated first in her class with a Bachelor of Science in Biology and minors in Chemistry and Psychology.
In 2020 Dr. Scanlon earned her Veterinariae Medicinae Doctoris (VMD) at the University of Pennsylvania and chose to pursue her career as a veterinarian here in Florida with her dog Ezra and cat Armani. She loves to cook and spends her free time at the beach or in search of the perfect coffee shop.
