Dr. Richmond is originally from Portland, OR where she started working with horses at a young age. In 1998, she moved to Colorado where she pursued a degree in equine science and then graduated with her doctorate in 2007 from Colorado State University. She has worked in small animal practice in South Florida and North Carolina. In 2013, she moved to Savannah where she partnered with her husband to open and manage Savannah Veterinary Internal Medicine & Intensive Care and in 2018, she joined Banfield. She has interests in population health for humans and animals, and is currently working toward her Masters in Public Health at Georgia Southern University. Dr. Richmond has a 15-year-old toy poodle, Lucy; a peek-a-po, Bo; an 18-year-old cat that has been a “foster” for 18 years, Kitten; and a 17-year-old horse named Fergus.
