Dr. Zapata was born in Puerto Rico and raised in the Dominican Republic. She moved to the United States in 2000 and graduated from Georgia State University with a bachelor's degree in biology. She received her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine degree from the University of Georgia and joined Banfield in 2018. She is bilingual in both Spanish and English. She has a pug and a French bulldog, Napoleon and Kuzco, and in her spare time, Dr. Zapata enjoys crafting, biking and traveling.
