Dr. Nyasha Jawahir

Associate Veterinarian

Dr. Jawahir hails from the warm, sunny subtropics of Central Florida. There she spent her childhood in the great outdoors - the pine forests, the fresh water springs and the sandy beaches. She attended the University of Tampa, majoring in biology with double minors in chemistry and French. After graduation, Dr. Jawahir moved around the country interning at zoos for some time. To focus on wildlife medicine, she attended the Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine. Her time at Tufts broadened her interests significantly. For now, small animal medicine has taken first place, but wildlife and large animal medicine are vying for the throne! In her free time, she relishes finding water to swim in, performance art to stir her soul, and baking sugary treats. She shares her home with two ambivalent pets including a ball python (Lilith), and a red rumped tarantula (Pricilla).
