Dr. Leslie Abernathy is originally from a small rural town in Western Pennsylvania. She attended the University of Findlay and obtained her Bachelor's degree in Biology, graduating in 2007. From there she attended THE Ohio State University for her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 2011. Dr. A decided to stay in Ohio and although she initially wanted to be a large animal vet, she fell in love with the small animal side of it and began her career at Banfield in July 2011 (she still does miss the large animals occasionally). She has settled down in Kettering with her boyfriend- a firefighter/paramedic and their 4 fur babies- Ada and Rufus (dogs) and Charles and Fitz (cats). Dr. A eventually plans to get a horse and hopefully have 5 human babies of her own. In her free time she enjoys running half marathons, riding horses, decorating cakes, scrapbooking, and traveling the world (so far she has been to Australia, South Africa, Europe and all over the US!).
