Dr. DeGhetto was born and raised in northern New Jersey. She attended Seton Hall University, then moved to Colorado, where she graduated from the Veterinary school at Colorado State University. She completed an internship in Small Animal Medicine and Surgery at VCA in West Los Angeles, then spent several years doing field research on sea lions and fur seals in Alaska, Washington and California. After settling down in Washington, she worked at a mixed animal practice for a year, then moved to PAWS in Lynnwood to practice wildlife rehabilitation medicine and companion animal shelter medicine. Dr. DeGhetto has a special interest in gerontology and care of the aging pet, and exotic animal medicine. She lives in Seattle with her husband, 3 children (teenagers!), 3 small, adorable pets and an 18-year-old box turtle named Uguay.
