Dr. Tom grew up in Grand Junction, Colorado, and graduated from Colorado State University Veterinary School in 2001. Following graduation, he completed a 13-month internship at the prestigious Angell Memorial Animal Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts, where his training included critical care, surgery, internal medicine, oncology, and cardiology. Dr. Tom and his wife, Dr. Tara, returned to Grand Junction in 2002 to raise their children and be close to family. They purchased Animal Medical Clinic in 2004. Dr. Tom and Dr. Tara have three very active boys; two dogs, Roo and Finn; two cats, Rio and Maizy; as well as chickens and goats. He enjoys skiing, cycling, rafting, camping, and rock climbing.
