Veterinarian

member image

Dr. Leavell always wanted to be a Veterinarian, since she was a little girl. She grew up loving on family pets and riding horses. She spent weekends looking at canine breed catalogs, naming all of her future dogs and summer breaks volunteering and getting as much exposure to the vet med field as possible. She went to NC State earning her undergraduate degree in Animal Science and spent the first part of her career in veterinary research. She then went to veterinary school at Ross University, followed by a post-doctoral position researching Osteoarthritis. Dr. Leavell's interests in 'making pets feel better' led her to become a Certified Canine Rehabilitation Therapist and a Veterinary Acupuncturist. Pain mitigation and mobility issues are her specialty!
