Melissa Sawyers, DVM

Dr. Melissa Kail Sawyers grew up in Frankfort, Kentucky. She received her Bachelor of Science degree at Eastern Kentucky University in 2009. She then moved on to Auburn University where she received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree in 2013. After graduation, Dr. Sawyers moved back to her hometown and joined the Banfield team where she currently serves as a Veterinarian. While she enjoys all aspects of veterinary medicine, she is passionate about preventive care and internal medicine. Dr. Sawyers is happily married to Brandon (a Fisheries Biologist for Kentucky Fish and Wildlife) and has two children. They share their home with four golden retrievers, two Holland Lop bunnies, and a bearded dragon. During her time off, she enjoys spending time with her family. She loves being outdoors as much as possible, especially out on the lake. When stuck indoors, she spends a lot of time catering to her obsession of horror films.
