Dr. Layna Tarpalechee, DVM, MBA, joined the Banfield Pet Hospital team in 2026. She earned both her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine and Master of Business Administration from Oklahoma State University. Her professional interests are as diverse as her own family of pets, with a particular passion for soft tissue surgery, community outreach, and building strong, lasting relationships with clients. She also has a keen focus on exotic animal medicine, supported by her professional memberships in the Association of Reptilian and Amphibian Veterinarians (ARAV) and the Association of Exotic Mammal Veterinarians (AEMV). Dr. Tarpalechee is profoundly dedicated to nurturing the human-animal bond and sees it as a central part of her life's work. When she is not at the hospital, she enjoys watching anime, playing board games like Magic: The Gathering, and making an annual trip to hike in a national park. Her deep love for animals is fully expressed at home, where she cares for two dogs, two chickens, four snakes, two lizards, a tortoise, a tarantula, a hissing cockroach, and a guinea pig.
