Kassey Van Gieson, DVM

Dr. Van Gieson grew up in a small farming community in Kansas. At the age of 5, she decided that she wanted to become a veterinarian, and set out to do just that. She finished her undergraduate work at Kansas State University with a degree in Animal Sciences and Industry. Dr. Van Gieson graduated from Kansas State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2012. She started her veterinary career working in emergency medicine. In 2014, Dr Van Gieson transitioned out of emergency medicine to Banfield Pet Hospital as an associate doctor at the West Wichita location. While there, Dr Van Gieson enjoyed developing client and patient relationships and has a passion for preventative care. In 2019, she transferred to the East Wichita location to become their Chief of Staff. In 2021, Dr Van Gieson transitioned into the role of Area Chief of Staff. The locations she supports include East Wichita and Olathe. Dr Van Gieson has a passion for soft tissue surgery, acute and chronic pain management, fear free practices, and emergency medicine. Dr Van Gieson also enjoys spending time outside of work with her husband, their children, and giant dog. They can often be found outdoors camping, fishing or watching their children in little league.
