John Shaner, DVM

Dr. John Shaner serves as a Chief of Staff at Banfield, having joined the organization in 2025. With a distinguished career in veterinary medicine, Dr. Shaner is deeply committed to fostering the mutual relationship between pets and their owners, ensuring both receive the care and understanding they need. He holds a Bachelor of Veterinary Science from the University of Nevada, Reno, and also earned his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Missouri, in 1996. Dr. Shaner's professional duties include discussing puppy and kitten issues, providing comprehensive wellness health care, and assisting clients in navigating various pet-related challenges. His approach combines clinical excellence with compassionate client support. Outside of his professional life, Dr. Shaner enjoys fishing, traveling, and spending quality time with his family. He shares his home with three dogs and one cat, reflecting his lifelong dedication to animal care.
