Gwen Zupan

I have been with the company for a little over two years beginning as a CSC at Burlingame. Prior to joining the Banfield family, my career had been predominantly as an educator. I taught at a Waldorf school in Milwaukee, WI and upon graduating an 8th grade class, I decided a change was needed and joined the Peace Corps as an English Literacy Educator. I served in Samoa, a small island country in the middle of the South Pacific. When the coronavirus pandemic hit, my fellow Peace Corps volunteers and I were evacuated from our countries of service and returned to the United States. Fleeing the long Midwest winter, I relocated here to Portland with my partner, Adam, and our dog, Kevin. My passion for preventative wellness care for pets runs deep. Having always being an animal lover, as a little girl I wanted to be a vet when I grew up. Upon passing out when watching a dog be put under anesthesia for a neuter appointment, I pivoted away from my original plan and pursued education. I feel like I have come full circle in becoming a team member at Banfield.
