Banfield Pet Hospital Expands Senior Leadership Team, Welcomes New CIO

October 15, 2017 • Vancouver, WA

Banfield® Pet Hospital today welcomed Jesper Frederiksen as Chief Information Officer (CIO) and Senior Vice President of Information Technology (IT).

In his new role on Banfield’s senior leadership team, Jesper will provide overall leadership and strategic direction to all areas of the Information Technology organization, including Enterprise Architecture, Enterprise Application Development, Data Warehousing, Network and Security Services, Infrastructure and Support Services.

“Data is a critical component of not only Banfield Pet Hospital’s business but also the insights we are able to offer our clients and the broader profession,” Brian Garish, President of Banfield Pet Hospital, said. “With his rich and robust history of IT strategy and innovation, we are delighted to bring Jesper on board to propel the practice’s IT organization forward.”

Jesper brings more than nine years of leadership at Danaher to the practice, including experience in building enterprise IT strategies, overseeing divestitures and acquisition integrations and building advanced analytics, cloud technology and software development teams. Serving as VP of IT and CIO – and most recently as President of Danaher Labs – Jesper established a cybersecurity command unit linked directly to enterprise risk management and led “Internet of Things” projects across Danaher’s operating companies.

“Banfield’s longstanding history as a leader in pet healthcare is in part due to its rich data – and commitment to using insights gleaned to advance both its own veterinary care and the broader profession,” said Jesper Frederiksen, CIO and SVP of Information Technology, Banfield Pet Hospital. “In partnership with our IT team, I look forward to identifying new opportunities and further strengthening Banfield’s internal Information Technology organization.”

Jesper will be based out of Banfield’s Vancouver, WA headquarters. He and his family – including Jacob the Cockalier (cocker spaniel & cavalier mix) – will reside in the Portland metro area.
