August 20, 2018 • Vancouver, WA

Banfield Pet Hospital® today welcomed Ludek Janousek as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to oversee the company’s strategic financial planning, governance, payroll, accounting, tax and treasury. As a member of Banfield’s Senior Leadership Team and in partnership with fellow Banfield Finance team leaders and Mars Petcare Veterinary Health Group, Ludek will help shape key business decisions to not only enhance and strengthen Banfield’s long-term financial health but also drive the practice’s vision and purpose in the ecosystem of the broader Petcare organization.

“Ludek’s passion for building collaborative, trusting and engaged teams, coupled with his financial expertise, business acumen, and pet-industry knowledge, make him the ideal fit for Banfield” said Brian Garish, President, Banfield Pet Hospital. “I look forward to partnering with and learning from Ludek for years to come to deliver on our purpose: A Better World for Pets®.”

With robust and extensive tenure at Mars, Ludek joined Wrigley as Regional Finance Director in 2008, then in 2014, Pet Nutrition in Asia Pacific (APAC) as Vice President of Service & Finance (S&F). During this time, Ludek became well-versed in the nuances and complexities of the region, accelerated its growth by shaping clear roles and expectations from all units, and role-modeled integrity, transparency and objectivity in partnership with both the APAC Leadership Team and the S&F community.

“I have always believed there are people behind every business – and been inspired by companies that are driven by principles, a strong purpose, and their associates,” said Ludek Janousek, Chief Financial Officer, Banfield Pet Hospital. “When I joined Mars Petcare four years ago, its dedication to creating a Better World for Pets resonated with me. Marrying that commitment with passionate and proud associates makes Banfield an exciting practice to join, learn from and contribute to in support of our shared purpose.”

Ludek earned a Master’s Degree in International Business from University of Economics in Prague, Czech Republic, and in his free time, enjoys sports, technology and travel. He and his family relocated from Singapore to Vancouver, Washington.
