Our diverse, talented professionals enjoy the benefits of industry-leading resources, training and support.
Anesthesia for the Pet Practitioner
We are committed to continually improving the safety of anesthetic procedures and the quality of pain management for every pet patient. Working with industry leaders, we develop the best protocols for our practice. The result:
Anesthesia for the Pet Practitioner, our comprehensive manual with the latest information on protocols, drug dosages, pain assessment, prevention and treatment. We are proud to offer this resource to our caregivers – and broaden the profession.
The State of Pet Health® Report
This annual report delivers a one-of-a-kind comprehensive analysis of national pet disease trends. It captures and analyzes medical data from the nearly 2.3 million dogs and 470,000 cats seen at Banfield hospitals across the country. Our goal is to provide pet owners and veterinarians a unique view into common and chronic pet health conditions.
Partners for Healthy Pets
One way we demonstrate our commitment to preventive pet health care is by supporting the American Veterinary Medical Foundation Partners for Healthy Pets initiative. As a founding member of this organization, we devote resources to educating pet owners and veterinary teams on the importance of proactive disease management. The result: a healthier and happier pet population and a healthier profession.
Support for Students
Mentoring the next generation of veterinarians is why we support the Student American Veterinary Medical Association and the Veterinary Business Management Association. Along with financial sponsorship of these two student groups, Banfield veterinarians also participate in events to help students hone their medical and communication skills as they prepare for practice.
Make the Difference Awards
This global awards program recognizes associates within the Mars family of businesses who spearhead innovation that makes a positive impact on the business and the community. Nominations are submitted by fellow associates to foster celebration of team members who go above and beyond. Past Banfield winners have included our groundbreaking State of Pet Health Report, our Hurricane Sandy disaster relief efforts, and an initiative to make surgery safer for pets by improving anesthesia safety valves used in Banfield hospitals.
Pet Health Care Industry Summit
Our annual summit brings together leaders from across the industry to solve problems, collaborate, build relationships and inspire excellence in veterinary medicine. Each summit is organized around a key topic, with focus on identifying opportunities and overcoming challenges facing the profession.
