Good stuff in a bad year

really good stuff during a really hard year

2020 was a crazy-sad-hard year. But some rays of goodness did shine through, thanks to people all over the country who contributed their passion and hard work to Banfield’s community-focused programs.

It’s worth taking a look back at last year (just for a few minutes) to see how many pets and people Banfield and our charitable arm, the Banfield Foundation, helped and supported when they really needed it.

Here are some highlights of the good work and good vibes from the Banfield community in 2020:

People came together to turn a setback into a comeback. Tough times sparked lots of new ideas and actions, from making appointments safer and easier to contributing to a wide variety of pet service non-profit groups.

Rallying around activism. Everyone in the Banfield community shares one big thing in common: we all love pets. But we’re also unique individuals, and Banfield celebrates diversity of thought and experience. 2020 raised new opportunities to rally around equality, equity, and social justice – we accomplished a lot, and there’s a lot more to do.

Pets bring out the best in people. Banfield associates volunteered so much this year – from fostering pets to delivering food to writing letters to veterans. And the Banfield Foundation, which recently celebrated five years and five million pets helped, made more than $500,000 in COVID-19 relief grants to nonprofit shelters and animal welfare organizations – thanks largely to client donations at our hospital PIN pads. Thank you all!

So much inspiration and excitement – and you can see lots more in the Banfield Corporate Social Responsibility Report and the Banfield Foundation Impact Report. What a year. Glad it’s over 😊.

Love is a powerful force. It’s hard to explain, but you sure know it when you feel it. At Banfield, we all share an indescribable love for pets, which inspires our veterinary teams and our entire community. That’s something to wag and purr about, for sure.
