    Dr. Petra Collyer

    Chief of Staff

    Dr. Collyer earned her DVM from the Free University of Berlin in 1999 and a PhD in veterinary medicine from the University of Berne, Switzerland in 2003. Dr. Collyer has worked in Scotland, France, Switzerland and the United States with large animals as well as companion animals. Her main interests are internal medicine and behavior. Dr. Collyer and her husband own a farm in Armstrong County, where they enjoy the country and the outdoors with their boys, Marian and Julien, their two Weimaraners, Vicco and Shindo, numerous chicken and several horses.     Dr. Julianne Sangimino


    Dr. Sangimino completed her undergraduate education at the College of William & Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia, where she majored in mathematics and participated in research in community-based participatory development. She received her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from the University of Pennsylvania with a special interest in infectious disease, zoonoses, and epidemiology. In her free time Dr. Sangimino enjoys watching Pittsburgh sports, hiking, and cuddling with her calico cat, Susie Q. More Details >>

    Dr. Ashley DeForno


    Dr. Deforno earned a B.S. degree in veterinary and biomedical science from Penn State in 2015 and her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Kansas State University in 2019. During this time, she met her now husband, Josh, who brought her to the Pittsburgh area. Once married, they adopted two dogs, Tater (a shepherd mix who was her first surgery dog in vet school) and Hubert (a pit bull mix puppy).     Practice Manager

    Jessica graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with a bachelor’s degree in natural science in 2005. She began her career with the Ross Township Banfield in January of 2007 when the hospital opened and held many positions including Client Service Coordinator, Veterinary Assistant, and Practice Manager. She is now the Practice Manager at the Monroeville location. She has three cats, Felix, Bailey, and Momma (pictured). In her spare time, Jessica enjoys snowboarding, mountain biking, running, and anything fitness related, as well as vacations to the beach. More Details >>
