    Dr. Forsythe relocated from Sonoma, California to Long Beach to be closer to his two college-aged kids. He lives with his English bulldog, Twiggy, Chihuahua, Cleo, as well as a cat and a snake. His hobbies include skating, swimming and travel.     Arlee Birenbaum

    Practice Manager

    Arlee has been with Banfield since 2007 and has worked in many different roles with the practice. Starting as a Kennel Assistant and working up to Practice Manger, a role she has been in since 2010. Arlee currently works at both the Long Beach and Costa Mesa locations and loves being able to work with two fantastic teams. Arlee's passion is educating clients on preventive health care for pets and developing future leaders in our practice.     Veterinary Technician

    Monique started at Banfield as a PetCare Assistant and worked her way up. She completed the RVT program at Mt. San Antonio College and has been a Registered Veterinary Technician since 2009. She considers herself an advocate of preventive care and client education, and enjoys teaching team members. Her interests include dentistry, anesthesia and small animal physical rehab. She hopes to obtain her VTS certification for small animal physical rehabilitation someday. Mutts and senior pets hold a special place in Monique's heart and she encourages people to adopt and support animal rescue organizations. During her free time, she plays or hikes with her two dogs, Yumi and Chuck, both rescues. She also loves photography, coloring books and traveling.     Shift Lead/Veterinary Assistant

    Angelica has been in the veterinary field for over 6 years, working her way as an intern to shift lead/veterinary assistant. She has always loved pets and wanted to make a career out of helping animals. Angelica has 3 pets, a 14-year-old Chihuahua named Prin, a 7-year-old Chihuahua named Chico and a 5-year-old cat named Milo. They are the loves of her life.     Veterinary Assistant

    Orin has been a part of our Banfield team since July 2014. Orin graduated from California Polytechnic University, Pomona with a Bachelor of Science degree in animal science/pre-veterinary focus. His love and passion for the welfare of animals has been guiding him since childhood. Orin has a dog, six cats, three geckos, a turtle and a tank full of fish.     Veterinary Assistant/Client Service Coordinator

    Amal joined the Banfield Long Beach family in September 2015 as a client services coordinator and now as a veterinary assistant. She has loved working with animals for most of her life, fostering and finding forever homes for pets in need, along with the help of her family. She enjoys spending time hiking with her 1-year-old husky, Akela, 9-year-old Pomeranians, Amie and Poe, a Snowshoe named Tom Hardy, and Elenor, her 8-year-old Chinchilla. Taking her love of animals a step further, she set off to study veterinary medicine in Mexico, most recently graduating from IICV, UNAM.     Shift Lead/Client Service Coordinator

    Melissa has been with Banfield since May 2013. She started as a client service coordinator and has now become a shift lead. Melissa enjoys her time making sure clients are receiving great customer service and pets are receiving the care they need in a timely manner. It is a goal of hers to continue to lead care forward through hard work and dedication. Melissa graduated from California State University, Long Beach with a bachelor degree in healthcare administration.     Monica has been an animal lover her whole life. When she was a little girl, she always begged her family for stuffed animals instead of dolls. Pound puppies were ESPECIALLY her favorite.
