Hi Jimmie, I recommend that you talk to your local veterinarian about this question. The prognosis and survival rate in something like this can have a large variation. Some factors that will effect it include the age of the pet, the symptoms the pet is showing, how the surgery was performed, the type of shunt that is present, and the pet’s overall health.
