• what is the normal platelet count range. What does it mean when the results show above or below normal?

    HI Kathy,
The normal range for platelets depends on whether your pet is a dog or cat and age can also play a factor in this. There are many reasons for the result to be above or below average including the quality of the sample and different disease states. Some variation may be normal for your pet. If you have specific questions about your pet’s blood work, I would recommend calling your veterinarian and they can discuss with you what the results mean for your pet.
