• What could be the cause of a 5 year old Maltese to start shaking, not be able to walk stair as her legs become stiff. There is a lot of salivation and she throws up when the episode is done.

    I recommend that you take her into see a veterinarian. There can be a few different causes for this incluiding seizures, infection, or an underlying GI issue. Your vet can talk to you more about the cause of these episodes after they have examined her. They may recommend some lab tests to help diagnose or rule out certain causes. The treatment that she needs will depend on the underlying cause and severity of the symptoms.
