• We took our cat, Caramel in to the vet in early January with what seems to be a severe case of acne. We used the prescribed shampoo for the recommended durration, however it seems that its not really getting better. Its been almost 2 months since the first appointment and it seems to have spread or just seems worse since the hair is gone from her chin. How long should we expect the acne to go away on its own now, or should we take her back in?

    Hi Linda,
With the acne getting worse I recommend that you take her back into see a veterinarian. With it lasting this long it is not likely to resolve on its own. The best next step to diagnose and treat the underlying issue will depend on what was done on the first visit. Your local vet will be able to give you the best advice on this after they have examined her.
