Ask a Vet Archive

When it comes to your pet's health, there's no such thing as a dumb question. Search questions real clients have submitted to our popular Ask a Vet Q&A series, and then submit a question of your own.

  • We noticed that our dog has tiny bumps around and inside ears and lately now on top of head, she has also been licking her paws a lot more recently. Wasn't sure if she was showing signs of an allergy, atopical dermatitis, or maybe something else. Thank you for your help.

    Hi Daniel,
This seems to be a change in your pet's skin and it would be best to take her to your veterinarian. They may need to perform some different testing to determine the cause of the bumps and determine the best therapy if any is needed. There can be many causes of the bumps including allergies, infections, and parasites to name a few. Make sure to tell your veterinarian about anything else that may have changed with your dog such as a new food or treat.
