• We have tried steroids and antibiotics to control an allergy, I have been told it is from mosquitoes but I think it is environmental. The breakout of raw bleeding spots on her nose and face got better on two doses a day of prednisone but did not resolve and now getting worse off of the medication. Still waiting for a fungal results. What else can we do for her?

    Hi Nancy,
It sounds like your cat is having a difficult time. If the skin irritation is not improving with the prednisone, I recommend calling the veterinarian. They may want to perform a recheck exam and determine what else can be done to help while waiting on the results of the fungal culture. Unfortunately, there are many causes of skin issues and many times there can be multiple factors happening at the same time.
