• So I just had a quick question about the abbreviations for the vaccines since they are kind of hard to understand. So my dogs orginally records had him vaccinated for DHPPL and then when I came to see you guys you have him in your records as having DAPP and leptospirosis. I know the L standards for leptospirosis but are DAPP and DHPP the same thing? Thanks

    Thanks

Thanks for your question Regina. These vaccines are the same thing. The letters stand for the diseases that are being vaccinated against. In this case it is distemper (D), hepatitis/adeno virus (H or A), parainfluenza (P) and parvo virus (P). Often the leptospirosis is given with this vaccine but occasionally it is given alone. The H/A abbreviation can vary depending on the preference of each veterinarian or veterinary hospital.
