  • My puppy stayed with relatives while we went on vacation, and since she came home, I've been noticing a lot of discharge coming from her left eye. It looks thick and green-ish-yellow. Is this maybe an allergy, or did she pick up a virus from one of the other dogs? Thank you!

Hi David, I recommend that you take her into see a veterinarian. The discharge that you are describing is concerning and could be caused by a few different things. These include infection, allergies, an eye injury, or something more severe like glaucoma. Your vet can talk to you more about the cause of the symptoms after they have examined her. They may recommend some specialized eye tests to help diagnose or rule out certain diseases. The treatment that she needs will depend on the underlying cause of the symptoms.
