• My dog was diagnosed with a urinary tract infection after urinalysis revealed lots of bacteria. Our vet put him on a course of Clavamox for 14 days. Is it proper to have antibiotics administered for such a long period

    Hi Kabir,
If you have concerns or questions about your pet’s treatment I recommend that you call and talk to your local veterinarian. They know your pet’s medical history and can give you specific answers. In general it is not uncommon for a pet with a UTI to be treated with antibiotics for 14 days. The length of treatment needed based on the individual pets situation including the type of bacteria found in the urine, the severity of clinical signs, and the pet’s overall health.
