• My dog was diagnosed with acute pancreatitis on Wednesday; he went back Thursday morning for IV fluids (from 9am-6pm) .He is slowly back to normal behavior wise; but he still has no appetite for food. How long does it usually take for a dog that suffers a quick acute pancreatic attack to get thier appetite back ? I bought him Hills prescription ID Digestion dog food.

    Hi Alayna,

If your dog still does not want to eat I recommend that you take him back into see your veterinarian. The amount of time it takes for the appetite to return will depend on the individual pet and the severity of the pancreatitis. Your vet will be able to give you the best advice on how long this should take for your individual pet.
