• My dog is 8 months old. I've noticed he has a behavior of licking random objects a lot and within the following 12 hours he will vomit. This has happened a few times in the last 2 months. Should I be concerned about some underlying cause? He typically goes back to his normal behavior after vomiting and doesn't seem lethargic.

    Hi Essence,
I recommend that you take him into see a veterinarian. Licking objects around the house can be caused by nausea and with this and the vomiting occurring more than once or twice, it is concerning. There can be a few different causes for this including infection, intestinal parasites, inflammation of the GI tract, or a more serious underlying medical issue. Your vet can talk to you more about the cause of these symptoms after they have examined him. They may recommend some lab tests to help diagnose or rule out certain diseases. The treatment that he needs will depend on the underlying cause and severity of his symptoms.
