• My 10.5 month old Sheepadoodle (Old English Sheepdog x Standard Poodle) has been having soft, borderline diarrhea once per day for the last few months. He poops anywhere from 3-4 times a day and without fail, one of those poops will be soft and/or runny. The others are completely normal consistency. He doesn't exhibit any signs of lethargy or sickness whatsoever, has plenty of energy and a healthy appetite. I'm wondering if this is something I should be concerned about. He eats NutriSource Large Breed Puppy food 3x a day and rarely gets treats. We'll give him a carrot or some peanut butter in his Kong every now and then but nothing consistent enough that it would be affecting his poop. Should I take him to the vet for a stool sample? His last exam was in November and the stool sample was normal (at that time he was having the one soft poop a day). Appreciate the advice in advance!

    Hi Susannah,
I recommend that you take him into see a veterinarian. Having a loose stool every day is concerning. There can be a few different causes for this including infection, inflammation of the GI tract, intestinal parasites, or an underlying medical issue. Your vet can talk to you more about the cause of the diarrhea and the treatment that he needs after they have examined him.
