• Its suspected that my cat had EGC. She was a bit swollen around the corner of her mouth a few weeks ago. We did the steroids and it eventually went away. About a week after the steroids ended its back but now its the front of her upper lip just under the nose. We just switch her to the RX food and a stainless steel bowl instead of plastic. How long should we test the food before bringing her back in to try a new treatment.

    Hi Hilary,
With the lesion back, I recommend that you take her back into see a veterinarian. She may need additional treatment on top of the food and bowl change. Your vet can recommend the treatment that she needs after they have examined her. I do recommend continuing on the food trial as it can take 10-12 weeks for the change in food to take effect.
