If the whimpering has continued I recommend that you talk to the veterinarian who performed the surgery if you have not already done so. The whimpering after the neuter is not something that is usually seen. This can be caused by pain from the surgery or confusion from the anesthesia but there can be other causes as well. Your vet can talk to you more about the cause and any treatment that he needs after they have gotten a full description of the behavior from you.
