Hi Kim, I recommend that you take her into see a veterinarian as soon as possible if you have not already done so. The symptoms that you are describing are very concerning. They can be caused by an infection which with the swelling and open sore is serious and needs treatment as soon as possible. There can be other potential causes including a foreign body in the paw, an injury, a mass or tumor, or an underlying medical issue. Your vet can talk to you more about the cause of her symptoms and the treatment that she needs after they have examined her.
