• I have two indoor only kittens, both up to date on vaccines. When one was frequently vomiting, amongst other things she was given flea/heartworm meds (Revolution). The vomiting has subsided with a change in food, but do I need to continue the flea and heartworm meds? (I was only given one dose) I initially wasn't planning on giving it to either of them because of them being indoor cats. I see now that it says that she is 'past due'.

    Hi Melissa,
I recommend that you call and talk to your local Banfield Hospital about this question. The need for these medications will depend on the risk in your local area as well as the environment that your pets are exposed to. Heartworm disease has been seen in indoor only cats as all it takes is one mosquito bite for infection. Flea and tick prevention may or may not be needed depending on your unique situation. Your vet knows your cats and they will be able to give you the best advice on this.
