Hi Samantha, The timing and need for vaccine boosters depends on many factors including your dog’s age, previous vaccine history, lifestyle, and any health concerns. Puppies require more frequent vaccine boosters than adult dogs. This is best discussed with your veterinarian to determine which vaccines your pet needs and then how often boosters are required. It is very uncommon for a dog to have a hairball. If your dog is coughing, I recommend taking your dog to the veterinarian for an exam. The veterinarian can listen to the heart and lungs to help assess the cause of coughing and may recommend some diagnostics based on exam findings.
