• Hi! I need to ask about Denamarin for a 7 pound dog. She uses the chewable pills at 1/2 pill for several months. Ordered more pills and received the tablets instead of the chewables...replacements are on the way but won’t be received for another couple of days. Tablets are the 225 mg (which is the same dosage as the chewables). Back of box says not to split or crush...but with not having anything else, is it better to go without meds for a couple of days or to split the tablet?

    Hi Johanna,

I recommend that you call and talk to your local Banfield Veterinarian about this question. What will be best for you pet will depend on you’re the underlying issue that the Denamarin is being used for. Your local vet knows her medical history and they will be able to give you the best advice on if it is better to split the tablet or go without the meds.
