Hi Ronald, I recommend that you talk to your local veterinarian about this question. There are some home dental products that can help to slow tartar buildup but they will not remove what is already there. To remove the tartar usually takes a professional dental cleaning that is done under anesthesia. Your vet knows your pet and the medical history so will be able to give you the best advice on what can be done to treat and prevent the tartar buildup.
