• Hi! I'm potentially adopting an 11 week old puppy this weekend (waiting on paperwork to go through and they want to do a house check) and I'm wondering when I should take her to a vet for the first time? I think they said they vaccinate prior to me getting her, but I'm not 100% positive. I've always had a dog growing up, but know nothing about the puppy life. Do you have any suggestions on food to buy her? Anything else I should know prior to picking her up? Thank you!! (She is suspected to be a chihuahua/terrier/doxie mix)

    Hi Rebecca,
Congratulations on the new puppy! It is very exciting to have a new puppy in the house. I would recommend taking her to the vet after you pick her up before going up for a health check and so the veterinarian can help to guide you on next steps for her health care and nutrition. The veterinarian can also discuss behavior and potty training. Puppyhood can be very challenging and rewarding. It is best to build that relationship with your veterinarian so they can help to guide you through the process.
